Hopefully this thread helps dispel many of the common talking points among the "Voting Dem Is Useless" crowd.
Because I'm sick and tired of people lying through their teeth about basic logical reasoning.
Re: the "rotating villain" theory, anyone who has made any sort of democratic decision with a large group of people can tell you that there will almost always be one person who is not okay with the majority decision.
Disagreement and compromise are aspects of *Democracy itself*.
Even though Sinema/ Manchin are the bane of everyone's existence, their *mere presence* in the Senate means that Biden can confirm dozens of progressive judges and pass landmark generational legislation, like the climate change bill.
This is *objectively good* even if not ideal.
You want to "hold Dems accountable"?
The primaries are when you do that. If you lose, understand it's not because the vote was rigged, it's because you couldn't convince enough people to vote your way.
If the alternative is fascism, it is *impossible* to hold Dems "accountable"
Even if a Dem is not *individually perfect*, they are *significantly better* in any place of power that could potentially be occupied by a Republican.
In fact, each additional non-Conservative Dem in a seat *gives Dems an even wider berth to accomplish their stated goals*.
If the consequences of not voting Dem means you will never get the chance to vote again (because the fascists will have fully dismantled Democracy), then you have utterly failed to hold Dems accountable.
Instead, you have immolated the US because you weren't given power.
