So tired of people who are trying to stand with trans people referring to us as trans brothers and sisters. Just say trans siblings. There are trans people that aren't brothers or sisters....
I'm side-eyeing your allyship hard if you are trying to stand up for trans folks while erasing trans and non-binary people
I'm forgetting what just cheese pizza rolls tasted like. They've been quietly replaced everywhere I can find, with three cheese. Three cheese is far inferior to just cheese. I hate that I'm adjusting to this.
excited for the impending death of discord to once again fracture most of my friend groups as folks move to mostly ~worse, but all different, alternatives (and thus I stop participating in them bc I can't keep track of 3000 different places and will just forget the spaces exist)
Sitting in my car after aerial class about to go run errands. I'm parked on a community street that prioritizes not cars. There's a little boy in a wheelchair and I'm assuming his dad going up and down the street. Kid is flying and dad is on a jog accompanying the kid. Best part is the racecar noises from the kid.

"The student's reproductive anatomy, genetic makeup, or normal endogenously produced testosterone levels"

The student's "reproductive anatomy" means genital checks by a doctor for any young woman/child who wants to participate in sports.

The bill text:
"A student who elects to participate in individual or team competition activities intended for female students only governed under subsection (1) of this section shall provide, as part of the required routine sports physical examination, a health examination and consent form or other statement signed by the student's personal health care provider that verifies the student's biological sex, relying only on one or more of the following:
There's some anti trans ballot initiatives coming to WA. One is forced outings of children to their parents from schools and the other is regarding youth sports.
I'm seeing lots of online dialog regarding the latter that to do this just requires a cheek swab or is just a basic sports physical. I'm also learning that cis men think young women also turn their heads and cough? For women, that's generally done palpating the lower abdomen, no underwear removal or genitals.

Two actions come to mind around home security/smart doorbells/cameras.
A) put up informative flyers for neighbors to see to share why they're a bad idea and make the neighborhood less safe
B) more directly have a spiel and go and recite it to their cameras. This is more time consuming and potentially too confrontational and risky

Could always do both I suppose!

My parents and siblings never really discussed our experiences and big political and/or news events and how they impacted us growing up. I keep trying to think how I'd explain going through this timeline as an adult to future kids/young adults. Like I have no idea how my parents dealt with a lot of things in their teenage years and young adulthood. What was it like raising kids in the world through major events? Why didn't we ever talk about it?
