I feel like this journal's title is either exceedingly accurate or not ambitious enough. Why not just “Journal of Clean Production”?

I appreciate this report on industrial decarbonization from DOE. https://liftoff.energy.gov/industrial-decarbonization/

However, this line feels like boiler plate from the oil & gas industry, “Make the U.S. a global leader in production, usage and export of lower-carbon intensity fuels, to preserve industrial base and retain social license to operate.” While unsurprising, it's still disingenuous when what we need is full decarbonization and an accompanying transformation (not elimination!) of the industrial base.

“Colin McCarthy, an atmospheric scientist and extreme weather influencer tweeted…” Wait, he can influence extreme weather? Why isn’t this bigger news? 😂 https://www.oregonlive.com/environment/2023/08/marine-heatwave-off-oregon-coast-considered-extreme-by-noaa.html

Truly remarkable! Who does research like this anymore? Put some stuff in a test tube, seal it, and don’t touch it for forty years! That’s a long time horizon (which we ignore because you don’t get new grants or boost the bottom line that way).
