My perspective on #OggCamp day two: a total success!
My discussions with OggCamp's many fellow attendees today ranged from new British regulations for microlight aircraft to the intricacies of German charity structures for FOSS non-profits, and I enjoyed a nourishing lunch courtesy of @michael_meeks and @CollaboraOffice - as well as adopting a cute beaver (pictured)!
The F-Droid t-shirt I wore attracted plenty of attention - from users and those interested in the success of @fdroidorg and the @keepandroidopen campaign. It was lovely to meet so many F-Droid community members in-person!
I picked up some VoIP books that were left over from the OggCamp "Swap Shop" - not the most up-to-date editions, but all the fundamentals of internet telephony are still current. Reading these should be a nice distraction to the horrors of CrossCountry that I will have to face tomorrow morning during the train journey back home.
After the raffle and the official closing of OggCamp, I had a stimulating meeting with the Free Software Foundation Europe's Ana Galan and @annabonnie - comprising discussion of governance, community management and succession planning, complemented by some very tasty blends of black tea and scones at the Richmond Tea Rooms.
All in all, my first OggCamp has been a highly enjoyable experience, and being my first time in #Manchester as well, I've discovered for myself what a vibrant and pleasant city it is. Many thanks to the @oggcamp crew for running such a flawless operation!
