Good point - from an ex-editor of the Sun. It's main influence, and it remains considerable, is in agenda setting for the BBC and other mainstream media outlets, persistently pushing them onto a right wing agenda.....

The popular press is not popular anymore, its nasty small boats agenda and ‘war on woke’ is not where the people are….. the Brexit editors have lost their audience, lots the plot, lost their argument…

Interesting. After voting today, I made a complaint against voter ID and was given the slip below by one of the officers, allowing me to 'express concerns'. However, friends tell me that other voting stations know nothing of such slips. Perhaps you might like to fill one in?

In 2020, Shrewsbury MP Daniel Kawczynski had to apologise for attending the NatCon in Rome, which a Tory party statement called "unacceptable". This month's version of the same conference in London has Braverman, Gove, and Rees-Mogg speaking.

compulsory Voter ID from this election onwards.

Personally, I have ID coming out of my ears but then I am a home-owning, driver with a senior bus pass, who occasionally travels abroad.

In the same queue as me there was a young, partially sighted woman who had none of the above.

She had missed the deadline for a postal vote and her only recourse was to go for an emergency proxy vote before 5:00 this evening. As a consequence she will probably not vote.
This is blatant voter suppression which should be abolished immediately!

At some point we have to accept that it isn’t going to be possible for young people to pay out of standard wages:
- Student loans
- Housing costs
- Pensions
- Childcare

So the bottom two will go. Which just punts a worsening problem further down the road. https://twitter.com/gmb/status/1653666974927405056

Never heard of the Post Office scandal? It isn't (as this piece argues) because of 'cancel culture' on Twitter or the 'culture war.' It's because British journalism is run by Hetties and Hugos with little interest in labour journalism.
