Went to the Sphere to see Dead and Company. The show fully sold me on this place as a venue. Barn burner second set with both a Dark Star and Terrapin. People brought to tears by Black Muddy River. Casey Jones encore and a big Walton tribute to cap the night. Full review and show notes: https://www.mgoldstein.nyc/music-of-the-spheres

Bob Weir & Wolf Bros, Willie Nelson & Family (with Norah Jones): 9/17/23 @ Forest Hills Stadium (Outlaw Music Festival)
A great slower tempo set from Weir, first ever Blue Eyes Cryin’ ahead of Willie taking the stage. A jazz-induced EOTW>What’s Goin On?>EOTW, with a solos from all horns players
Willie's voice sounded incredible for 90 years old, with sporadic attacks of guitar carried by his band. Handful of solos and verses thrown to Norah Jones who melded wonderfully with the band.
Arthur Verocai performing songs from his self titled 1972 album, with a small orchestra, at Lincoln Center. Beautiful beautiful show.

Very weird going to a show at a venue you hadn’t been to in like a decade+

Dead and Company @ SPAC, 6/17 + 6/18
Night 1: soggy weather dampening the overall energy, slower tempo first set, a lovely Dire Wolf into a building crescendo in Bird Song. Set two dominated by a Other One>Jam>Drums/Space>Other One.

Night 2: much higher energy, a super funky Mr. Charlie launching into a high tempo set one. Set two including a Help>Slipknot>Franklin’s, returning from Drums/Space with a heavy Death Don’t Have No Mercy. Encore of Werewolves of London straight into PITB reprise.

Google Bard seems more or less on par with ChatGPT/Bing, but with the added ability to more accurately pull and summarize current events/recent news.

Chart 1 (https://twitter.com/yoyoel/status/1590422124606681088) shared in November of last year by Twitter's former Head of Trust and Safety gives a peak of ~150k impressions of hate speech on users' home pages in late Oct.

Chart 2 (https://twitter.com/TwitterSafety/status/1613335965996810241) shared yesterday by the Twitter Safety account shows peak ~10M hate speech impressions for the same time.

Sure seems like the problem of toxicity on the platform is worse than previously let on? (And assuming a trend line that overall use of the site is way down?)

“Update on our efforts to combat hateful conduct: We've not only mitigated the recent surge in harmful behavior, but have reduced impressions on this content in Search by ~95% relative to even prior baseline levels. We're continuing our work to make Twitter safer every day.”

The absurdity in listing salary bands in job listings, especially in the current job market, is that doing stuff like this meets the technical requirements of the regulation but not the spirit of it... (via @PoromaPant on Twitter)
