This account will scratch the itch of 'mes doigts maladroits' (my clumsy fingers, in french) for some hardcore...

#embroidery.

Yep.

Brace yourselves.

Note: I am republishing this post because I browsed to this profile on my main fediverse account and it is not shown there. Hopefully this republishing fixes that. AND YES, I'm still embroidering, bit by bit, organizing things and missing posting here. I'll post more very soon!

I know, I know. But I'm back. My 5th one is still on-going but look at these new things I got for my 6th and so on projects.

I got 100 of those flat plastic spool things, a nightmare to pickup from the floor after exploding out of its plastic wrap so I had to group them as such, on a need basis.

Also, I just realized I need to spool 15 skeins.

This
#embroidery abomination is finally done! (it's the black fabricπŸ˜‚)

Am I saying no to black fabric, yes, but just for now. Even though I agonized doing embroidery on black fabric, like a few fellow embroidebuds here on the
#fediverse said, it is worth the end result.

You can follow the "journey" of this piece starting from the link quoted below or follow

I'm back and here's my 4th #embroidery pattern! I will follow the 2-strand instruction on this pattern since it seems that it would look better that way when the individual stitches are thinner and theoretically, would "blend" better with other stitches. #MDM004 And it's black. :black_sparkling_heart: πŸ“Ž

Weather is getting better, not the previous meltingly-hot and icky, so I was able to stitch some stitches in this black abomination each night. πŸ˜‚

I'm really glad I got this white marker helping me stay somehow in "grain" (I don't know the word for it).

Yes, I am still here.

Among other things that took priority over my
#embroidery bit, it has been hotAF lately. So damn hot. Even at night. And I can't relax and meditate as I embroider without dripping wet in sweat.

But still, tooting along this challenging abomination that is black fabric.

My current embroidery is kind of giving me unease.

My eyes get tired too easily when doing embroidery on black fabric. I'm not pushing myself so I only get to do little by little.

Aside from a headlamp that still hasn't arrived, I might outline everything first and then fill it in. Like do everything that's hard to see first and just go ham filling it all in.

I wish there are white-plated needles.

Am I the only one who thinks that embroidering on a black fabric is so freaking hard?

I can't see where I poked my needle from the bottom so it's taking a bit longer time just to do one stitch.

I think I need more lights when doing
#embroidery, put it on a different angle so the light would shine on the needle and have it more visible.

So far, the experience sucks but I'm not a quitter.

Note to self:
I need to remember to leave some space for the other thread color when doing thread color blending.

I am currently occupied on researching how I could seamlessly transition from doing #embroidery kits to making my own from photos or by drawing them by hand.

Currently looking into iron-on paper to transfer design to a fabric. Or maybe just print a design on paper and trace it with carbon paper onto the fabric. Or just learn to draw so I could freehand the design to the fabric. I have those heat-treated erasable markers that I could use on it.

My Pinterest is brimming with inspiration and I can't wait to make my own designs. My 4th and 5th will be the last 2 projects using a kit. I need to set that deadline so I could start making my own.

I am excited (and currently distracted) on what I will do for my 6th pattern and so on.

It’s #WorldPoetryDay! Here’s a couple of my poems that have made it into my #SciArt #embroidery
Accidentally deleted the post. lol 🀣

Also, I just noticed on the photo that the thread that came with this embroidery pattern was shinier compared to my other first two, but seems to get fuzzy quicker.
