So…those of you who have lived though things like this, realistically what can an individual do?
Im talking beyond voting. Stock up on things? Get to know all my neighbors?
Because of an earlier Executive order, ICE (and related law enforcement) no longer needs to have a warrant. Now we are talking about militarizing local police forces. What happens if my family and I get disappeared?

This will likely affect Fresno in particular. Withholding federal funding would cripple the city and potentially the county. Fresno County has quite a number of sanctuary cities.
This is particularly worrying:
“prosecute state and local officials who “willfully and unlawfully direct the obstruction of criminal law, including by directly and unlawfully prohibiting law enforcement officers from carrying out duties necessary for public safety and law enforcement.””

LOL wow. Thats some misunderstanding. Theres millions now. And each service that gets put online only pulls in more and more users.
I wish more people would understand that mastodon can talk to lemmy can talk to piefed etc… etc… each service is another layer of people talking with other people. We all rise when one service does well.
Loquat. Once you pick them they go bad after about 2 days. But they are sweet and can go with a lot of things.
It does very well in very hot climates like mine. Ive made preserves (canning + sugar). Ive also made fruit leather (kinda like fruit rollups) with a small amount of honey with them. They make for some good toppings and snacks for a good 2 months of the year.

Getting bigger slowly is much better. Suddenly getting a massive wave of users that are not used to our features sounds awful.
Its funny because you can totally run good LLMs on local systems but people are just going to chat because its what they know and its easy to work with. Like I get it, but they are starting to put ads in the prompts now.
