Today I lost one of my best friends. I've known him ever since I was young. We met in Albuquerque, NM at a pound where my parents introduced us. I asked what his name was, my dad said "his name is Hooper". At first I thought that was a dumb name but I realized how much of a great name it was. He never left my side as I grew up, he always made sure i was snuggled tight in my bed while I slept even though he hogged the covers. I gave him his last lunch, a cheeseburger and a hotdog where he could barley sit up anymore. His back legs gave up where he couldn't walk anymore despite him wanting to and still eating and drinking but we knew he couldn't live like this, we knew how miserable he was. I made sure I told him how much I loved him and that we will meet again. I love you Hoop, please rest in peace.
