#HappyNewYear Returning from a stay w/ my sisters & quick visit to Wesley Glen where Mom enjoys excellent care. Heading through South Central Illinois on our way back to Missouri, we stopped for a bathroom break in Vandalia. Last time, post-Thanksgiving, we went south a few blocks to check out the Old Illinois Statehouse, one of few existing original governmental buildings in Illinois. 1st state capitol @Kaskaskia after yrs. of Mississippi meanders & flooding is left with only blufftop cemetery.
