I find this perplexing. Can people really not learn the lesson that a social network owned by a capitalist is a social network they don't control?
You can argue about whether Bluesky or Mastodon has the better technology, but what's 100% clear is that Mastodon is run BY users FOR users. And that difference is the only one that matters in the end.

@selea The sad truth is that we don't pay for the Game but only for the right to use it as long as the 'producing' company sees something as [still] profitable enough. ToS reading was never a pleasant thing but I feel like that it gets worse every day with all that fancy lawyer sh*t they stuff into those.

Man wird nur dann enttäuscht wenn man Erwartungen hat die nicht erfüllt werden. Ich bin seit Jahren mittlerweile von den großen Platformwn weg. Viele meiner Voredner:innen haben schon tolle Argumente vorgebracht. Eventuell ist es eher etwas das mit dem zu tun hat was die "anderen" gezielt versuchen auszubeuten. Dopamin gesteuertes Design wirst du hier wohl nicht finden da es niemandem etwas wirklich bringt dich zu binden. Genieße die Freiheit und das ehrlich gemeinte Interesse von anderen. :)
