@sj_zero @newt on that point, I’ll have to disagree with you. They may have started on the left, but what they became was not left leaning.

@newt @sj_zero I use the term nazi to describe the growing groups like "Unite the Right" that proudly wave the German Nazi flag. So yes, my viewpoint is distinctly U.S. centric and I can't speak to issues that other countries may or may not have.

Unfortunately, in the U.S. we haven't learned our lesson and there are plenty of people who take these alt-right views. Even our last president helped to make their views more mainstream.

@newt true, he is an extremist but his reach doesn't include me. White supremacists and Nazis now being welcomed back to the platform definitely have an impact around me. It helps make white supremacy more normal and more of them get elected around me in Texas.
