Check out seequa.org for my research on the Seequa Computer Corporation!

I had some help this weekend from Forgotten Machines getting my damaged Zorba disks imaged (turns out, DS/QD may be intentionally misaligned in the Zorba), and one of my disks I was oh so worried about getting archived had nothing on it except the following text in a TurboPascal file:

“Genesis: in the beginning, God created Adam. Or was it Coleco?”

Can’t make it up lol

I finally was able to get a high quality scan of the Chameleon Plus advertisement I have! You could get double the memory and double the disk space a $1995 Chameleon could get you for less than double the price!

You can see the rest of my scans and photos regarding Seequa computers at https://seequa.org/gallery !

So here’s a fun one: from Seequa’s Odenton plant opening, they were running some sort of demo on the Chameleon being showcased. I’m trying to figure out 1. What it says and 2. How to recreate it. It looks like to me it says “EXPANSION”, but I’m perplexed how they got the font to be that big and more importantly why’d they need the left hand side text?

After two years of being very “meh” about the McJonesTech branding, I’ve finally gotten a new logo mascot that isn’t just whatever boilerplate design the Fiverr artist made!

My only problem is, I can’t think of a good name for the lil guy. Any ideas?

Going through the magazine for screenshots to include on the Internet Archive is hilarious because its super normal stuff and then the Buffalo Bills lol

In a break from everything else I’ve been putting off, I got a BS-X Memory Pak in the mail today! Turns out, the saved broadcast on it is an undumped magazine broadcast, called 3 Ji no WIDE Shou from November of 1998!

A solid 5 hours of work later, I finally added photos for every system on the Seequa preservation site! I stupidly have Seequa-related scans and such scattered across four different computers (not to mention my iCloud Drive being totally disorganized...), so organizing and rebuilding a large section of the site to correctly house these was no easy feat, but now complete!

Seequa Computer Corporation - Gallery

Advertising, Scans, and Other Important Information Regarding the Seequa Computer Corporation.

With the newfound interest in the Tabor drivette and diskette, I figured I should take a brief diversion from my constant Seequa research scavenging and start attempting to compile some history about Tabor. 6 hours later, I have a handful of paragraphs.

You can read what I have so far at https://seequa.org/history/tabor ! If you happen to know anything about this company you want to add, please let me know!

As I like to reach out to the folks behind a company to get the real story for my research, rather than basing facts off of computer magazines, I was hoping to reach out to those behind Tabor to get some insight to just how long these drivettes were manufactured. Unfortunately, it seems both members involved directly with the company have passed away.

Moral of the post is, every story matters. You never know where something you accomplished fits into a bigger story!

The unobtainium piece of the Seequa collection has arrived, and wow is it smaller than I imagined! The Tabor 3.25” drivette for these little disks were designed in a collaborative effort between Dysan Corporation from California, Tabor Corporation from Massachusetts, and Seequa Computer Corporation from Maryland. These rigid plastic disks could hold 500K on a single disk, and were to be the new “golden standard” of format for any luggable IBM compatible.

I will have my 3.25” disk, my NOS Drivette, and the Tabor edge adapter on display alongside my Seequa research at VCF East and VCF Midwest!
