If anyone is interested in some weird and wonderful keyboard for the FW16 as an input module, fill out this form. https://forms.gle/esWwFFJSnjBzKJAf8

Found the mechanical specs:

The USB connection is through pogo pins, no need to source some weird low profile connector that sells in minimum 1000s...

This was expected to be a short outage, but the storage server being rebooted didn't reboot. Won't be back until tomorrow US/Pacific at least.

No data loss expected, just additional outage.

Is it thin enough for the 16? 3.7mm max space from bottom of keyboard unit to the tops of the keycaps... I don't have a spare to measure, myself. (Though, if this computer keeps dying, I guess I might! 😢)

What I meant is that I care about the physical layout differences between the "we bought an existing chromebook keyboard layout" that frame.work has and the thinkpad layout. For example, the PgUp/PgDn next to the arrows I'm now thoroughly used to, and there aren't physical keys there on the frame.work keyboard that could be remapped in firmware.

Whereas until they made a lower-profile trackpoint I removed the useless red button.

I have not redirected my account, but I no longer post here. I'm only paying attention to my @mcdanlj Mastodon account. Follow me there if you care about what I post.
I am also @mcdanlj — microblogging for makers. I haven't yet redirected my account, but I'm mostly posting there.

@smellsofbikes @artcspgs @pixelfed It's https://social.makerforums.info — but it's a Mastodon not @pixelfed instance.

Respecting the original question: I at least tried to "brand" it appropriately: https://social.makerforums.info/about/

I play wordle; my wife also plays many of the offshoot games. As we waited for our takeout to be ready, I asked, "Want to play one of your weirdles?"

We now have a general family name for these games, and I'm newly familiar with squaredle.app — in which I get lots of archaic words before noticing many of the words in current use.
