Outlook was my main design inspiration.

It gets a lot of hate, but at a glance you know:
- What messages you have
- Where the selected one is going
- What the message contains

When I started building Crosspublish, I wanted it to feel familiar instantly.

I think the inspiration becomes clear when comparing the top (Outlook) to the bottom (Crosspublish) 👇

Shipped social media analytics v1 today 📣

I post daily w/ Crosspublish, but I don't know how the posts perform.

The analytics feature in will reduce that friction. 🤩
📊 View analytics for each channel.
📈 Make data driven decisions.
🔍 Double down on things that work.

Building it will be difficult because the social APIs are a mess.

But I think it will be worth it.

Created a meta panel today.

You can now:
- See the editing history.
- Add tags to organize your draft posts.
- Use the notepad to paste some notes to each draft.
- See which accounts are in sync and edited separately.

Everything I add comes from observing my own workflow and iterating obsessively.

Shipped quote tweet support for Crosspublish today.

You can now turn X URLs into quotes.

After building it, I realized you can only quote post via the API if the original post mentions you.

Quite annoying that quote posting is so heavily restricted.

Build in public update:

- Added optimistic updates to the scheduled tab.
- Dragging one post on another now switches them in the timeline.
- Slot being dragged over is now visually highlighted.

It's small details like this that a vibe coded version just can't match.

X gives you a graph of your followers' active times.

Scheduling posts into the non-active times makes no sense.

So today I mapped out the active times, and added them to my queue.

I went though the recordings of visitors to my website.

One thing that stood out: Many users click on the background because they think the overlay can be closed.

I've also received this feedback from 2 other people.

So I'm scrapping the landing page.

I was trying to be fancy.

That was a dumb waste of time & tokens. #buildinpublic

YouTube approved my app and all permissions!!! 🎉

It took 2 attempts 🫠

Luckily the review cycle was much shorter then Meta's. 😂

Only Pinterest, Google Business, and LinkedIn to go. Then I'll be able to support all major social networks 🥲

Keep goin'

Build in public update:

- Started working on post analytics.
- Redesigned the scheduled tab to make it look better.
- Added green icons to show which channels are in Sync.

Slow but steady progress :)

Nearly 50/50 browser vs mobile split for my followers.

Although most people won't use my product on a mobile, that's where they'll get their first impression.

The landing page needs to look great on mobile.
