Some more light path debugging
Reworked cone lights (similar to what
@maxliani
showed in his demos) and improved sampling for homogenous volumes. Here I use two lights with different cone params as one

So, light leaking seems to happen IRL also… 🤔
Last month I managed to charge my car exclusively with excess electricity production from my solar array, “fueling” 900km of trips and errands. Excess solar I is not free, each kWh used in charging is not fed back into the grid. At 12c/kWh, that is $18 (in AUD, equivalent to 12USD).
How many indirect bounces? 0, 1, 2... 1000?
New blog post: fast, single kernel 2D CDF construction (for HDR light maps importance sampling)

About fast 2D CDF construction

In a path tracer, sampling a light source that is driven by a texture, such as a HDR map, requires mapping a 2d random number to texels of the map, with a probability that is proportional to the br…

New office setup iteration, this time with better cable management.
Old school grass cards spotted IRL
Sim racing idea! Super advanced mode: if you crash the car, you won’t be able to race for the reset of the day, until the car gets “repaired” over night. It doesn’t even matter if you have other cars. Something that no money or tokens can overcome. 🤭
Charging EV from excess solar production 😄
