Thank you, the Google Calendar progressive web app.
A few years ago I even tried to track it down and ended up, in a Nathan Fielder-esque side quest, trying to talk a completely different Dan Hardin into recreating it via Patreon
I found an old dell 1708fp on the street last weekend and I'm trying to use it as my only display with my mac studio, and it's been going kind of badly. It's only 17" and the resolution is pretty constraining. It's interesting to see which software handles this resolution well and which doesn't. I use a music player called Doppler and it literally doesn't fit on the screen, for example. No worries! I can drag it side to side to see the whole window.

Linux phase update: I've realized that most of what I liked about Fedora was vanilla GNOME, and you can use GNOME with other distros. This week I started fresh with Arch + GNOME. I had used Arch in the past and remembered liking it but not wanting to deal with the installation headache. But then I learned that archinstall is a thing to make it easier these days. Nice!

Tried out using kagi as a paid search engine but apparently $10/mo only comes with 300 searches and when you hit the limit they basically call you a loser so I think I might be out
Linux phase is alive and well. About to upgrade to Fedora 42. System feels pretty stable and simple and boring and lightweight in a very nice way.

What's New in Fedora Workstation 42 - Fedora Magazine
Check out some of the notable new features in Fedora Linux 42 Workstation. It's the answer to life, the universe and everything!
Fedora MagazineI’ve tried using Claude with the voice dictation feature and it’s like 99% accurate at transcribing me except that it thinks I’m saying “Claude” when I’m in fact saying other words, like “blue” or “card”. I guess I also think people are talking about me when they’re not…
Every few years I have a Linux phase and I am entering my latest one. I bought a $680 ThinkPad so I'd have a laptop to bring on a vacation I'm taking soon where I will be sitting on trains a lot. I'm trying out Fedora for the first time (m'lady) and it's kind of fantastic so far. Everything Just Works and feels mostly part of the same system. Writing this from Tuba, a Linux Fediverse client.
