React is incredibly overused. Lots of places that don't really need React are using it for... reasons...
Lots of "modern sites" have subpar experience because they bet o React without actually needing it. Discord, for example, gives me a CPU spike when I'm typing. Debugging with React Devtools, I see that each letter causes a repaint of the WHOLE TEXTBOX. Why???

There's a project on kickstarter called "Broadmind". They want 30k USD to offer a "brain-computer interface" powered by "AI".
30k... for something that likely needs millions in research. A SINGLE EEG HEADSET costs almost 30k USD, and I'm not talking about the expensive ones.
It's a SCAM, and somehow... it's backed. I hate how kickstarter offer no guarantees against scammers...
I hate this timeline.
People are now starting to see the problems with AI - energy usage, using stolen material, exploitation of workers...
... you know why they are seeing it right now, even though we've been warned about this since forever? Because AI didn't get the expected results.
If it did... then we can exploit, steal, and rob everything... because apparently, the comfort of the few outweigh the needs of the many, right?
Or people that believe science will make us live forever, and that will be a good thing. Or that there will appear a good leader and solve all of our problems...
But no, here I am, boycotting alone some services because I have principles and don't want to be exploited. Having bad experiences with software and servifes because I care about privacy, don't want to be treated as a criminal, and see literal nazi posts on my feeds...
Honestly, it's such a pain to have morals and principles...
I wish I could just be like all the people that accept all the crap that the world throws at us. That think, honestly, that this whole AI will save the world and make everybody's lifes better. That honestly believe that companies like Apple and Microsoft love open source and fight for good standards...
That would make my world so much easier...
Dear services - Markdown have some rules:
Bold: two ** (heard that, WhatsApp?)
Italic: One * or one _ (heard that, Telegram?)
You can have links with different text than the _actual link_
Anyway... quite mad to have to remember each service reimplementing their own flaver of Markdown...
