One week after Israel bombed Doha, the response from the international community has been discussions and condemning statements only. Considering how the UN General Assembly (UNGA) and the UN Security council (UNSC) operate and vote, this is hardly a surprise.

Based on the media and open sources, leaders of the GCC and other Arab nations are fully aligned in their stance - it remains to be seen if they design and implement an alternative to waiting for UN action.

For a long time the GCC’s reputation for personal safety and stability has been a key draw for global talent and investment.

Having previously made Abu Dhabi our home for 7 years and now living in Doha, I am keen to see how the diplomatic aftermath of this attack is dealt with. The #UN will condemn, but will there be any concrete action?
