If you’re at the right place at the right time, with the right equipment, this is possible.

Last night, with guidance from https://transit-finder.com/, I positioned myself along the narrow line where the International #SpaceStation would pass between me and the nearly full moon.

I used a Fujifilm X-T4 shooting 4K video through a Celestron 8” SCT to capture the pass. Then, back at the computer this morning, put together these views with PIPP, Registax, and GIMP.

Quite pleased. My best yet.

I do like it here on Mastodon, but the huge influx of people from Twitter means there are far fewer image descriptions than from even a couple of weeks ago. I’d love to tell every one of them about this, but quite frankly there are so many I don’t have the patience. I’d dearly love it if apps could block posts unless an image description was added to every photo, but I suppose that’s too much to hope for. I’m feeling really excluded from so many conversations. It’s getting as bad as Twitter.
WARNING: If we don’t push back against this recent stylish hype about another proprietary Twitter clone, we may as well just slit our cultural and political throats right now. We’ll just be going right back to the same future hellscape we just came from.
Whoa, looks like the #NYTimes has broken a story about #IncomeInequality ! Top story today juxtaposes surging need at a food bank with booming business at a luxury hotel a couple miles away. (Psst: nobody tell them this isn’t #news to most people.)
Taking the historical perspective, here's the gas price relative to wages, which is higher than 2014-2020, but not in a longer-term view 2/
