You can tell a lot about the quality of an app by the release notes they publish. Even after shutting down Apollo's are far better than Reddit's.
As a developer, I understand the tough technical issues underpinning this screen. I also don't really know a perfect solution.
But as a user, this really isn't good enough and has let me to "oh well, nevermind" so many times already in my brief period of using Mastodon.
