cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/1075893 [https://lemmy.world/post/1075893] > I used to play piano when I was a kid and I want to get back into it now that I’m older. I think I have more patience for it now, but I don’t have room for a large keyboard. I’m thinking of a small midi keyboard like a oxygen pro mini or mpk mini plus. Do they need to be plugged into a computer to work or can I just connect headphones to them directly? I know these are stupid questions, I’m sortof new at all this. If they have to be connected to a computer, are they compatible with linux, are there any good linux apps to use with them? I don’t mind small keys, and I do prefer nice key feel over more midi features. I’m probably not gonna record anything. > > Lemme know if this is the wrong place to ask this. > > Thanks.
