A worker in the space industry and a proud Boilermaker.
Mars and the Moon during last week’s occultation taken with my iPhone through a small telescope. Gives a real sense of the distance scales.
So excited to be back at @lifeatpurdue for the #purdueaae Senior Seminar!

SpaceX has moved its live streams of launches & landings away from YouTube to X (Twitter).
This is in NO WAY an improvement:
* resolution is far worse than YT
* X video usability is far worse than YT
* Mission Control audio stream is gone

This is a rather unfortunate development!

This solar farm in Australia consists of more than 1M solar panels & will produce energy to power ~235,000 households.

Diablo Canyon #Nuclear Plant reactors, 6 mi away from me as I write, sit on ~12 acres of land & power 3 MILLION households.

Get the idea?!?

Solar is a good idea locally but not for large-scale.

NOTE: CARL SAGAN SUPPORTED NUCLEAR POWER

At timestamp 13:13 in Carl Sagan's full 1985 testimony to Congress https://bit.ly/3jGPEHW, he mentions 'safe fission power plants' as one of the best options
for clean energy.

38 yrs on, we've demonstrated fission power to be safe.

Keep nuclear reactors on!
Build new ones for the future!
