Working on some new ceramics projects.
This vase was so fun to make and filling it with daffodils from the yard makes it feel like spring is *finally* here. This is one of my favorite glazes because it has so many subtle colors when it's fired. Plus I love the contrast of dark blue against white.
A friend let me try out her kiln so I have a few new pieces that have been bisque fired.

Starting on a song sparrow today.

Chestnut backed chickadee is done! These little friends are similar to the black capped chickadee in size and general appearance, except for a lovely streak of chestnut on their back and side.

Chickadees get their name from their main communication call of “chickadee-dee-dee”.

While both types of chickadees make this call, chestnut backed chickadees make a short, crisp, high pitched call, while black capped chickadees make a longer, lower call.

Almost finished with this little chickadee and I’m happy with how it’s coming along so far.

Finally finished this little warbler
Got more detail added to the wings and then had to stop to let it dry enough to keep going.
