Kalief Browder suffered in Rikers for 700 days in solitary confinement on the false accusation he stole a backpack, then died by suicide.
Two Americas. And a reminder that a system cannot fail those it was never meant to protect, and that a system will always protect those it was never meant to fail.

@markrprior yeah, I know what the code means but the site was up - didn't think about timeouts as it seemed to be responding well. I found the person I wanted to follow on the https://qoto.org server and I also had https://Aus.social open in another tab so both were up. My friend on qoto.org was able to follow me but I was getting the server error when I throes to follow them back. Apparently that server had been blocked by some servers so was wondering if the 503 is a polite “nope”.
