Rocket.chat falls to same category as slack and mattermost. Maybe an overkill for just group chats.

LibreOffice Base is good Access clone, but isn't the simultaneous usage a problem with these? MariaDB even used via LibreOffice Base is multiuser if that's needed.

There are some literally nice looking programs.
For me the reading those are useless, because I can't understand even if the code was with comments.
