i finally finished it; my thinkpad x61 tablet!

it's an old laptop that folds into a tablet. i did a lot of work on it to get it usable in the current year argument 2025. upgrading and replacing lots of parts. the hardest was replacing the display with a higher resolution one that includes a backlight. thank you to my brother for helping me remove the protective glass and the digitizer from the old display and reattach them to the new one! i definitely couldn't have done that on my own.

so, how is it? i like it a lot! it's great for drawing, and not too bad for working on my website. my website does run poorly on it, though. probably all the javascript. might be time to look into redesigning the site with a static site generator...

@puppygirlhornypost2 soft mutes are pretty useless for me since they don't actually tell you what it's muting. the "something is being muted" thing is even more enticing to click than a cw is

I'm feeling like shit right now so here's the ludicrously traumatic way my ex broke up with me. (this is going to be missing a ton of context since this will be just the break-up itself)

I flew out 4 hours to spend a week with her. paid for it entirely on my own. I wake up one morning about halfway through the week and she just breaks up with me. very out of nowhere for me.

I go outside to cry, and my nose starts bleeding. I don't have any tissues, so the blood kind of gets everywhere. when I go inside, she's concerned that I was cutting; this was the very last time she ever cared about me. tada, instant self-harm problems that I'm still dealing with to this day.

I go to my dog bed and cry while clutching our collar. after a bit of this, she gets annoyed and tells me that my mourning is breaking her boundaries, so she makes me leave. I look for the soonest flight back; it's in six hours.

she drives me to the airport, where I proceed to sit and cry for six hours while waiting for my flight, and then for another four hours while on the plane. I'm very sorry to the guy who had to sit next to me.

she later tells me that she knew she was going to break up with me even before we decided for me to come over. so why the fuck did I have to pay hundreds of dollars and fly over there just so she could break up with me and kick me out of her house? she didn't even wait until the end of the week to do it.
