Jay Carey, the veteran who burned the US flag in front of the White House, has been released from custody, because—surprise, surprise—they had nothing to charge him with, aside from the nothingburger “lighting a fire in a parking lot”.

“I did this in protest of what Donald Trump did with that Executive Order saying that it was illegal to burn an American flag. He can’t make orders, and I want to put it to the test, so I did, and…I’m not in jail for a year.”

It would be great to see a bolder, more inspiring vision for healthcare from Democrats for the midterms than simply, "we will re-fund Medicaid."

How about something like:
- We will open up Medicare to anyone who wants it.
- We will bring everyone currently on Medicaid insurance into fully subsidized ACA plans and add a federal public health insurance option we are calling "AmeriCare".

Please offer something more hopeful than mere "Republican cuts are bad" (and of course they are).
