How do I get some MP4 files on a 2013 ipad air? - sh.itjust.works

I’m an android guy and my partner is iPhone, she isn’t very tech literate and has an old iPad. I don’t want to connect the older iPad to my network but I’d like to get some MP4 videos on it of learning and Nursary rhymes for my daughter when on a car journey. I’ve plugged it in but I can’t seem to drag and drop. I use Linux so not sure iTunes is an option, thank you. Are there any tricks?

I copied them to a stick and they didn’t play. When I cast it’s not HDR. Any ideas?
