Today I heard the most amazing sound while walking to work through the underpass - I had to stop and listen. I eventually remembered I keep a field recorder in my bag but as I fumbled to turn it on the sound came to an end. Some things aren't meant to be captured.

โ€” OUTFIT RUNDOWN โ€”

Vintage YSL jacket from church basement sale. I don't like the 90s lapel but the shoulders are perfect and the material is too nice, I couldn't leave it behind.

Vest deadstock from Brown's in TO, now closed. Shirt from the also defunct hometown co Bon Vivant. Tie from marketplace. Vintage Stetson Stratoliner from the cutest elder gay on marketplace. Pocket square (Luigi BIanchi), unlabeled shoulder bag, even the watch are all from GC Surplus lol.

Gimme all your old menswear

When the court support pulls up looking like this you're gonna win your case ๐Ÿ’…
City park employees consistently are the most stoked to meet Tony. They're always like ๐Ÿ›‘๐Ÿšจ stop the car we must meet this dog! The unraked leaves can wait! ๐Ÿ˜ค
OK I think I'm pushing remote work to its limits

Bonus: also we saw Travis at Wei's Noodle House before the show, an obvious choice since it was a 4 min walk from the venue and has like 10 restaurants' worth of vegan options on their gigantic menu. It was pretty much a rotating door of long haired guys with spiky logo shirts and sleeve tattoos coming thru Wei's, I wonder what they thought!

My work-bff and I solidified our office-bromance by both independently ordering the same thing. The "Korean style spicy stir fried udon".

Last time I saw Cattle Decapitation I was kinda put off by the super high budget production values bc it didn't feel right for like deathgrind. Anyway that was like three months ago and since then I've decided to embrace it. House lights plus their own floor lights PLUS a Beyoncรฉ type box fan at the front so they could take turns doing Beyoncรฉ windy hair things. Slay!

Brujeria was the band I was least excited about based on their recordings but they they brought the fire live. Just four metal lifer dudes looking hard as hell with this backlighting. There was also a guy in a roach costume for some reason, a machete, and the singer accepting a joint from an audience member. ๐Ÿ”ฅ/10
No Cure could not have been more different. I was not able to get a single photo without lens flare. They were just ripping maximum spotlights the whole show. Which fit their vibe. Classic beatdown metalcore with arena rock attitude. ๐Ÿชฉ/10

Knoll brought their haunted living room situation to this huge tour, no house lights at all. Didn't make any sense in a room that size and I respect that so much. Do your thing!

The beaded curtain was a great way to hide the classic opener "playing in front of 3 other drum kits" problem, vibey way to shrink the stage & highlight the wiiiiild drummer. Singer creepily playing with a little lampโ€”I can't stress this enoughโ€”did not work at all in a room that size but the commitment was ๐Ÿ’ฏ/10
