Building redmeetblue.com, where strangers discuss national issues one-on-one

@ole Did you ever find a way to view these annotations in Xcode?

How the Swift compiler knows that DispatchQueue.main implies @MainActor

I found the place in the compiler’s source code where it applies a special attribute to DispatchQueue.main.async closures. Plus, a rant about how Xcode presents Swift concurrency context to the programmer.

@evan I think so, because one's presence is lending a vote for the message of the protest. If the message is fragmented, then it's lending support to multiple messages. At an extreme, if I found myself in a march with folks shouting "kill all X people", even if a minority, I would personally distance myself as quickly as possible. I see at least one pitfall in this logic, though, which is that any fringe group can wreck a dominant message. Still, that would be my action
@adamghill a few days ago HN was full of OpenAI gossip. I couldn't help but think, "isn't this site supposed to be filled with folks hacking and building businesses?". The grip of celebrity and gossip in tech is beyond what I expected
@pluralistic This is wild, thanks for sharing!
@pluralistic Would the powershell scripts automatically execute when the license was opened? How would the base64 be decoded and run on open?
@chrism Neat! My driver is ack, I just poked around and there is a -o flag that "Show only the part of each line matching PATTERN". Will give that a try too
@chrism 100%. Then play whack-a-mole ignoring them. Hopefully they are all in a single dir, but more than likely they are scattered everywhere in the unfamiliar code base. Why not.
@kayleesdevlog Good find! I verified the same behavior in Xcode 15.0 beta 2. Out of curiosity, where would I follow along for FB12845145? My understanding is that Apple bug reports are not publicly available. Is that still true?
