Monthly listening, March 2026: Lloyd Cole

I've wanted for a long while to catch up on his solo work, much of which is new to me. I'm excited.

it’s important to keep caring about how things work and how they’re built

Monthly listening, February 2026: David Moufang

I'm starting with a dozen or so releases from a rich back catalog of solo and collaborative releases under aliases like Move D, Deep Space Network, and rEAGENZ (with Jonah Sharp).

Monthly listening, January 2026: Kuniyuki Takahashi

Kicking off the year by sampling some of the rich output on Mule Musiq and elsewhere.

2025 was a tough year and I think I sought comfort for monthly listening. Looking forward to more discoveries in 2026.

there'll never be a replacement for being in the same place w/ others who are performing/creating/expressing/sharing their art.

not ever.

I went over there to see if Ed Handley and Andy Turner had said anything in the wake of Ken Downie's passing.

The Black Dog shared on Bluesky that founding member Ken Downie has passed away. Maker of some of my favorite music, particularly his releases together with Ed Handley and Andy Turner of Plaid. Rest in peace.
