Thanks for sharing your story, George. If we do not reflect on our history, we're doomed to repeat it. And if history doesn't make one uncomfortable, it's propaganda.

I wholeheartedly agree, but I worry this format of "3 good things, 3 bad things" is weak and invites rebuttal of "Republicans secured our border, protect our children, and defended our rights. Democrats got caught peddling influence while on crack, raise taxes, and want to change your children's gender."

@w7voa you don't get the title of Young Gargamel without effort.

It's as much the people's fault as it is the media. The media focuses on sensational stories because that's what most people tune into. We're so addicted to the trainwrecks that the media may as well be derailing trains just for the views.

We as a people are in dire need of a reckoning of what is valued, what is tolerated, and what is endorsed. I'm afraid things will have to get even worse to shake people further out of comfortability before we see that happen. That, and keep waiting for our younger generations to get more involved in politics and voting.

While I'm on this soapbox, ending FPTP would certainly have a monumental impact on our political landscape. Bring on the RCV, baby!
