In an open letter, we have joined other organizations in calling for Aura Salla’s appointment as Digital Omnibus rapporteur to be withdrawn.

Before becoming an MEP, Ms Salla was an executive lobbyist at Meta, serving as its Public Policy Director and Head of EU Affairs. And here stated goal is "to cut EU digital regulation".

Therefore, she is not suitable for the job as rapporteur.

Yesterday, we went to the EU-Commission’s headquarter in Brussels to protest for a Google break-up. Commissioner Ribera did the right thing with her adtech-decision. Now, she has to stay firm & resist pressure from inside the Commission & from the other side of the Atlantic. Time to break up Google!

More than 20.000 people support a bold and consistent #DMA enforcement. Today we went to Brussels to handover our petition for a strong DMA to DG Comp.

The DMA can only be properly enforced if it has the necessary resources at hand. It is time to strengthen Europe's tech rules against big tech's monopoly power!

Meanwhile, former Facebook lobbyists are inside the European Parliament as MEPs pushing for deregulation. In just a few months, the Finnish MEP Aura Salla had 181 lobby meetings – almost one every day. She also met twice with her former employer Facebook. Dora David, former Associate General Counsel at Facebook, also had many lobby meetings with the tech industry.
