Salut #Bruxelles !

C'est du vent

Finissage ce dimanche 22 février
À la galerie Melissa Ansel, Rue des Glands 74, 1190 Bruxelles

Avec @laurent_david, Loraine Chassain et moi.

I created my Lurk account a year ago now. At that time, I decided to leave Instagram to give another shot at the Fediverse (which I tried through pixelfed in 2020 before I used Instagram).

I found interesting content on the Fediverse, but to be honest, I still find more content of my interest on Instagram because this community has sadly not made the move...

I do not post there anymore, but I go there from time to time (much less than a year ago hopefully!). And one of my most valuable data is my "saved posts" page on IG.
But navigating through it is a nightmare, it's very slow and you cannot filter by tag.

I've been wanting to make a tool to do that for a while already and I finally made it! Without the need of a Facebook Creator account, just some #python libraries.

So if you'd like to at least retrieve your archive from there and never go back there, this tool is for you!

Update: of course I forgot the link to the code!

Back from "Résistances tissées" (first part), a three days workshop at L'école des Beaux Arts de Marseille with students from the school and students from Les Arts Déco de Paris, textile design section. We (@AntoineGelgon and @lionel) were invited by Sybille Berger and Alban-Paul Valmary, together with Orsina Visconti and Sarah Schradder. The students were asked to try to find and exploit flaws in an object detection model and a face detection model we installed on a dedicated computer, linked to a webcam located in the room. They will eventually weave 6 textile objects next month at Les Arts Déco workshop in Paris.

The commodity frontiers journal website is up, with a lot of great articles about the history and present of capitalism, contestation, and ecological transformation in the global countryside.

We (@AntoineGelgon, @simon_bvr and @lionel) designed and developped the new website, layout and web-to-print system for the CFI team to publish the Journal both on the website and on academics repositories.
A huge thanks to Mindi Schneider and @marjolijn_dijkman for their trust and their work!

Pibliothèque workshops

For 2 days, Lionel Maes and the research group Les nouveaux habits du colportage (Alexia de Visscher, Alice Néron, Léonard Mabille) will be running a workshop on an offline, local and collaborative tool of sharing digital books: Pibliotheque.

Varia
Allo allo,
I (@lionel) will go to @varia on Saturday 20 September & Sunday 21 September with the research group #lesnouveauxhabitsducolportage, aka @alice, @Xiou and @leonard for a workshop on a files sharing system between computers connected to a local network, designed for collective practices of documents sharing and dissemination. The tool is called Pibliotheque.
