Chamaenerion angustifolium
before opening, the pod or capsule is a straight cylinder 1-2mm in diameter & these were about 10+ cm long before opening
Each half curls into a glorious arc ribbed with the gauzy white silk-like hairs [pictured here] that will carry the seeds for kilometres on even a gentle breeze
