Out of sudden nostalgia, I googled screenshots of Ubuntu 14.04. I think it was my favourite version of Ubuntu. I used it for quite a while simply because Unity DE was in its best ever shape at that point. It wasn't the most customisable, but it was solid and consistent (at least on my machine). Then Canonical tried to make a cross-platform Unity for desktop, tablet and mobile, and I just couldn't get a taste of it.
It turns out this time it was a mistake to buy a 128gb iPhone. I didn’t have any issues with the storage since I switched from a 32gb iPhone 5C to iPhone 7 Plus with 128gb in 2017. All my iPhones after that had the same amount of storage. Well, 8 years, it was a good run. Though I hoped I won’t be changing devices any time soon when I got this iPhone in March.
Unironically, I started thinking that this is actually great UX. If this is convenient for some user and it makes them more efficient, why should we stand in their way?

Well, half of these apps don’t even have monetisation. With these numbers I’m not too bothered to touch StoreKit. Which I’m very happy not to!

I don't remember when was the last time I was reacting to new wallpapers with "oh wow" so often
I guess it's time to rollout the experiment to everyone. I don't want to be the only one suffering.
I've had photos as my desktop background since I made Irvue in 2015. Simply because Unsplash was only about photos back then. Today I noticed something unusual about my background. I even thought: "Did Unsplash start pushing AI to their front pages?" But at the same time I looked at the image and it actually looked nice. I checked it on Unsplash and apparently it's from The Art Institute of Chicago. Subscribed to their page to have more of these paintings on my desktop.

Since I’ve upgraded my iPhone to iOS 18, the automatic wallpaper cropping is a bit off. Or maybe previously it was simply cropped to the middle of the frame and now it tries to be “smart” and often fails.
Here is an example. Clearly, the balloon is supposed to be in the middle.
