We dissected, described and discussed the anatomy of the masticatory complex of this enigmatic group. Our findings reveal a great degree of morphological diversity and a configuration of the massteric complex unique among Rodentia, which is fitting (and a bit amusing) considering their taxonomic designation. #WeirdMouse
