With colleagues from DEP Lazio, we analyzed the association between economic disadvantage and SARS-CoV-2 spread in the Italian three-tier restriction system.

Using data from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and the Civil Protection Department, we found that less-strict tiers (“yellow” and “orange”) were more effective in more economically disadvantaged provinces, while the lockdown (“red”) had milder effects in those provinces.
