I'm an archivist, media artist and researcher based in Canberra. I am an online lecturer in Curtin University’s iSchool, teaching into the archives, records and digital preservation subjects. I muse my expertise in archives and media art to explore themes that flow from old media, ranging from digitisation to the impact of algorithm-based technology on citizens.

I shared a while back about RAILS - this Australasian library and information studies get-together has been going since 2004 so this year's pretty special. My energetic colleague Dr Ellie Abdi has organised an online conversation to chew over questions about research and practice. @misty That's a great post, Misty. Will share it with my students.
Thanks for your support AusGLAMrs for my post about the Research Applications in Libraries and Information Studies (RAILS) conference. https://railsconference.wordpress.com/ for the program and registration. Some talks you will be really interested to hear are on algorithmic literacy ... CSU colleagues will talk about their work on library co-design and there are some great looking papers from the NZ/Aotearoa colleagues on Māori perspectives on information literacy and collections.

Research Applications in Information and Library Studies

RAILS
Hi AusGlam community, first post here from me ... I am part of Curtin's iSchool and in Nov this year we're hosting the Australian research conference for libraries, archives and information studies that's been running since 2024 - RAILS https://railsconference.wordpress.com/. We'd really like to broaden the audience for RAILS this year and really make the most of its original goal to connect research and practice in a meaningful way - most of it is in person in Perth and there'll be an online component too.
