November is here, which means that it's time for Nostalgic November 2025!

During each year's Nostalgic November I reread some of the books I loved as a child/teen. Not sure I will manage to finish all of these!

This year's books are:

The Tomorrow series, by John Marsden.
The Tillerman Cycle, by Cynthia Voigt.
The My Side of the Mountain trilogy by Jean Craighead George.
'Under the Hawthorn Tree' and 'Wildflower Girl', by Marita Conlon-McKenna.

Anyone else doing Nostalgic November this year?

We spotted these lovely cinnabar moth caterpillars near the old cricket pitch today. They may be feeding on ragwort, I'm not sure. They are pleasingly stripy.

I've always enjoyed nature but I've been working on noticing more than I used to - I've always been into birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians, but now I am also paying more attention to fish, invertebrates, flowers and trees, which is cool. So much to see!

Pineappleweed, aka wild chamomile or false camomile.

I used to see these a lot as a child when visiting my grandmother's house - there were loads of them where we used to walk her dog.

They smell like pineapple when you press/squeeze the flowers!

Lovely weather for a walk in the woods!

Wildflower season is still going strong. There are loads of flowers out, but we're definitely seeing the end-of-season species now (unsurprisingly, as it's almost July). It was too breezy and bright to take decent flower photos today, unfortunately.

We also saw lots of butterflies, but I only saw the more common ones - I missed the red admiral, boo!

Two excellent games of Crackerdash today! Love this game.

(Loved the excellent company too!)

Feels super early, but we saw these up in the woods this morning. It's not autumn yet!

Watering done!

Time to enjoy the garden.

At today's book arts group meeting we learned about altering images. Very informative; I have tons of ideas now! Was nice to have @rincentvanuggh there too :)

This is my initial attempt - I also took the original photo.
