As of this evening, https://rickbutterfield.dev is completely powered by Umbraco Cloud on v13 using the Delivery API! Since November I've been plugging away at it in my spare time and finally got it working this evening, with Astro on the front end and @umbraco as the API! 🚀

The Delivery API Extensions package by @lauraneto has been super useful in helping me get up and running as well, with the Swagger JSON turned into a TypeScript client with `openapi-generator-cli` #h5yr https://umbracocommunity.social/@lauraneto/111539387324752430

I have finally released my first Umbraco package! ✨

It's called "Delivery Api Extensions" and it has two main features:
1. Preview content app in the backoffice
2. Typed swagger (adds types based on your doc/data types)

https://marketplace.umbraco.com/package/umbraco.community.deliveryapiextensions

It was a joint effort with my partner, and we chose to use all the new UI things while still targeting v12 (Vite + Lit + Typescript + UUI library and even a little bit of React🫣)
It has been a lot of fun so far, and I'm hoping people will give it a try🤞

Umbraco Secrets, Hacks, Hints & Tips

Hello fellow Umbracians! I need your help. I'm building an open-source community website which aims on sharing summarised pieces of information and linking through to blog articles, tutorials, videos or simply a social media post. Things which may have been shared once upon a time in the past and now in the history books. The website will create and display a new entry every 24 hours based on your contributions, however published historic entries will also be displayed nearby in chronological order and may also be re-published in the future. So, what do I need from you? Your secrets, your hacks, your "aha!" moments in Umbraco and web dev. If it's made you go, "Whoa, this could help someone else," then I want it! Please feel free to submit this form as many times as you like. Example entries... Did you know... As of version 12, Umbraco now fully supports Entity Framework Core. You can use this as an alternative to NPoco which allows you to generate native EF migrations rather than manually writing them yourself. You can contribute to the development of Umbraco by submitting pull requests or issues to the GitHub repositories for the CMS and documentation. We've hacked a very physical way to keep track of your #umbraco #hacktoberfest PRs. Since this weekend, we get a receipt for each incoming PR that we track on a pinboard in the Copenhagen office.

Materializing your Open-Source Repository Issues: The Codegarden Hackathon Issue Receipt Printer by Michaël Latouche | Issue 99

This year's CodeGarden had a great hackathon gimmick: the issues to work on would print off a receipt printer! Michaël show us how it was set up, and how easily you could integrate it in your own workplace or event!
