MidnightBSD turns 20 on February 24th
For those curious, this is the google analytics for recent MidnightBSD activity.

I updated smartmontools on a system recently to 7.4. It's now throwing alerts constantly for some seagate ironwolf and exos hard drives for temperature.

The fan did seem kind of sketch on the hot swap bay so I replaced it. It's still sending alerts though.

I replaced two of the drives with toshiba NAS drives (unrelated to the issue) and those drives are no longer triggering alerts. i don't know if it's still too hot or something is off about how it triggers temp warnings on the seagate drives.

Anyone know if I need to replace this drive enclosure? It's an icy dock 3x5.25 bay with 5 drives. The case airflow isn't that great so I'm also considering getting a new case. It's a 4u with 3 80mm fans and a 40mm on the back Air out the back is warm, CPU is idling around 52C (ryzen 5800x with stock cooler)

I attached an example screenshot from munin of the values.

This is what’s running most of the MidnightBSD infrastructure
