@JoshRollins it is definitely easier to spend time with friends that understand poly/kink then having to pick my words around others to avoid the conversations of explaining my life choices again.
Sometimes I just don't want to have to explain I just want someone I can relate with and maybe not feel so much like an outsider.
@JoshRollins @weft For me it does depend on the context of the interest. Though I do enjoy messing with a person's perception, it is oddly fun. I will usually have a conversation with almost anyone, answer questions and point them.in the direction of resources.
@Padme I am in Northern CA as well, right in the middle of SF and Sacramento. Most of the people I meet are through meetups, as well as OK cupid and fetlife. Most end up being friends rather than partners, but that might be because I say my focus is becoming friends with people not dating.
@Jerrik @poly_pockets It really is rough when you are already anxious about something like your partners meeting and it doesn't go at all how you planned. But I would say you rolled with it and I am glad it was still an enjoyable night for you.
