@daringfireball I think what the EU wants is the ability for its citizens to choose to funnel all their sensitive data to OpenAI / Google / Meta etc. but most techy people who want that ability would probably agree that allowing everyone to shoot themselves in the foot is a terrible idea
@daringfireball I have no experience with modern Android but over 10 years ago I owned both a Sony Ericsson Xperia and an iPod Touch. On iOS it was about picking the best apps, while on Android, it was about picking the apps that sucked the least.
@daringfireball Hong Kong is a tiny city with a great public transport system. Owning a car is mostly a luxury so car owners are gouged by the gas companies.
@daringfireball People that compare phone sizes using screen diagonals have no idea what they're talking about. The iPhone 8 Plus has a 5.5 inch screen but it's a much bigger phone with a larger usable screen area than the 5.8-inch iPhone X.
@daringfireball Apple only shipped USB-C chargers in iPhone boxes for 1 year. Then the phones don't come with a charger at all. I frequently have to buy USB-C chargers for family members because they only have USB-A chargers that don't work with the new cables.
