[Fresh Album] The Armed - Perfect Saviors
New album by The Armed. This has more of a rock sound then their previous works which had this interesting blend of hardcore and noise pop. Honestly I didn’t love their previous works that much but they were always unique so I wanted to check this out. Although it’s not as unique I’m finding myself really enjoying this. It just sounds very well put together if that makes any sense. Song whip below! https://songwhip.com/the-armed/perfect-saviors [https://songwhip.com/the-armed/perfect-saviors]
Youth Lagoon - Rabbit (Live on KEXP)
Youth Lagoon/Trevor Powers has a really interesting and unique sound that’s kinda hard to describe. Here is Youth Lagoon performing Rabbit from their most recent album Heaven is a Junkyard. Full performance here. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpNmOzkVo5A]
The Dear Hunter - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (Elton John cover)
[Fresh Album] Margaret Glaspy - Echo the Diamond
Another record released today that I’m enjoying. This is Margaret Glaspy’s third album but the first I’ve heard from her. I’d describe it as bluesy alternative. Great vocals and lyrics. And I love the details from the bass and drums throughout the album. Songwhip below! https://songwhip.com/margaret-glaspy/echothediamond [https://songwhip.com/margaret-glaspy/echothediamond]

[discussion] The Nice Guys (2016)
I put this on the other day not really knowing what it was and I loved every second of it. (spoilers below) The 1970s Los Angeles vibe was perfect. The plot was unpredictable and chaotic but it made sense from the point of view of the main characters. Ryan Gosling, Russell Crowe, and the teenage girl were all excellent together. There were so many intricately set up punchlines through out the movie. I had no idea Ryan Gosling could be so funny. One of my favorite lines was probably when March (Gosling) was interacting with his daughters friend Janet. Janet: “You took the Lords name in vain!” March: “No I didn’t Janet. I found it very useful actually. OK, Janet?” Also the whole set up and pay off with the dream sequence and Healy’s (Crowe) ankle gun was hilarious. What are your thoughts on this movie? Do recommend any more movies like this?
