Why scientists dug up the father of genetics, Gregor Mendel, and analyzed his DNA — NPR

The year 2022 was the 200th anniversary of the birth of Gregor Mendel. He's known as the father of genetics, so scientists exhumed Mendel's body and examined his DNA.

@WalterShaub That is going too far. Please stay away.
@adamdavidson That was never My Space.
@scottjshapiro I do not see any problems with Twitter today either. The real question is whether people are going to vote with their feet. After COVID, I have great faith in the self-destructive tendencies of population groups.
@kairyssdal @BCAppelbaum 9% for me which is practically the same as you.
@bencaudron @pluralistic I suppose “monopsony” has not hit the mainstream, but a good read nevertheless.
@AnnemarieBridy WaPo could be more nuanced about this. Khashoggi was a citizen of another country that carried out a state sanctioned murder in a foreign country within diplomatic facilities. President Biden had no choice. And the despair within the Post is understandable and the nation’s sympathies must be with them.
The USA has no choice but to play the long game. Sins sometimes have a way of catching up with evil.

@arensb @JamesGleick

Internet gossip column, not a technology company.

@albertoacerbi and people do not have so much discretionary spending to spare on every advertising-sustained platform.
@juddlegum no doubt the money trail leads to the ant hil rather than the actual individuals. The problem will be getting over the barrier that proves personal culpability.
