On the one hand, I do not want politicians’ opinions to constantly chase polling numbers. They shouldn’t cynically change their views like their underwear as it suits their electability, only learn and evolve gradually as we all do. And when they firmly believe in something, they should have principles and stand by those principles. For those that are doing that, I admire their resolve and integrity. On the other hand, their principles are shit, and they need to go.
Unlimited tax free contributions to a Satanic Temple sponsored Super PAC? And I can write off my donations as charitable since they go to a religious organization? It’s fucked up, but that is absolutely what the Evangelicals and Mormons are about to do. Let’s make them regret it.
AFAIK, current Supes is perpetually 28ish. So, he was born/arrived under Bill Clinton’s administration. But Trump is trying to denaturalize people who have birthright citizenship without citizen parentage, so i dont think it matters.
Pfft, you think the Trump administration would give him the benefit of the doubt.
Is thst still canon? I know it was officially changed in New 52 to be baby Kal-El in the ship from Krypton again. And then Post-Crisis canon was merged with New 52 Canon with Rebirth and Doomsday Clock, but I haven’t read a comic in years now. No idea what they settled on as his new origin.
So does my homemade mayo shower.
Thank you for the good faith response.
Update: only just got a chance to watch it and his “eat my entire ass comment” seems not to be related to the initiative itself but to the way Ross framed how the initiative was going to be easy to make into law becuase of a bunch of really weird reasons unrelated to the merit of the initiative that seemed very backhanded and sketchy. I completely agree that Ross’s comment were incredibly slimy and cynical even as I still mostly agree with the initiative. Just seems like people are taking the comment out of that context and getting pissed over something he didnt actually say ot mean about the initiative itself.
That’s a pretty twisted way to view the world. We are fundamentally different kinds of people. I think are done here. No way we will agree on anything if that’s how you think.
My point was that this rage mill has produced a lot of extreme negativity and this post, among others, and the comment thread within, is propogating it. And, as far as I can tell, it is over, at best, Thor taking the possibilities of this petition as written to the extreme to illustrate his concerns for its vagueness. And even if he is dead wrong, completely mistaken, and now knows it and won’t admit to it, that does not, in anyway, justify the position he is put in now. I’m not say that you personally support him being swatted, or getting death threats, but not letting this shit go after a year of bullshit, letting it fester and boosting the rage, that’s what leads to that shit. Just let it go.
