A beautifully calm afternoon on Upper Rock Lake and connecting stream into Stonehouse Lake, which turned a tad wet with the rain, but fortunately I dressed for the weather. Always peaceful to be the only soul out on the water. #canoeing #outdoors #FrontenacCounty 1/2
Wish I could’ve gotten closer but at least I had an encounter with a barred owl.
An enjoyable hike among the Skycroft trails off of Opinicon Road. Located the geocache hidden around the old mica mine engine, saw a barred owl & 6 deer on the trail, then another 9 deer & 15 turkey when driving home. Made a quick stop to get a sunset shot of Upper Rock Lake.
Some off-trail hiking today, which at times presents some challenges, but no worry about running into anyone else. Saw a pileated woodpecker and then evidence of coyote activity on the barely frozen pond. #FrontenacCounty

Make It Home YGKA military family’s vehicle was broken into early Monday morning in the Point St Mark area.
Stolen: a military backpack w/ high sentimental value, given as a gift at the end of a tour in Afghanistan. Similar (but slightly larger) to photo.
“[It] was given to him by his team at the end of his last tour in Afghanistan. As you can imagine some of this team are no longer with us - so this bag has a lot of sentimental value to him...We don’t care about anything in it - we just want the bag back.”
