Dnipro, Ukraine, it’s my native city, where I grew up and lived some 30 years of my life. 3 hours ago Russian missile hit a residential building at the very downtown of the city. There are no bases, no military targets. It’s the city downtown, with shops, residential buildings, and a square. Pure act of terror. The missile hit top floors of a 9-floor residential building, later part of the building collapsed. As of now it is reported that 1 person is killed, 9 wounded, including 7-mo baby. … It’s far not the first act of russian terror, and there is no ground to believe that it’s the last. But still the U.S. government does not allow to attack military air bases in Russia with the weapons U.S. provides. These are the air bases from where dozens of russian military planes daily depart to attack Ukrainian cities. Several retaliatory attack with American ATACAMS of these bases would banish russian military aviation further from Ukrainian borders, making such terrorist attacks on Ukrainian cities less probable. Ukraine must have the right to fight back with the weapons provided by its allies!

The mechanism for transferring Russian assets to #Ukraine is quite simple. Ukraine sues Russia for compensation for damages in a European court. This however is ‘impossible’ we are told. No international mechanism. So yes, it is CURRENTLY impossible.

It’s physics or it’s made up. The law is made up. Good rules, absolutely, but made up ones. We just need to make up some more. #Switzerland could do it as a neutral judge.🇨🇭

What concerns me is that the only time we hear something is ‘impossible’ is when the West doesn’t want to do it. The only thing I can think of is that it would create a mechanism for post colonisation compensation.

Having to wait for Russia to lose the war and accept it as terms to rejoin the international community seems a little counterproductive.

I’m still undecided on this. Any thoughts?
